Basic Primer on Using Your Blog

If you want to start posting items to your blog right away, log in using the Login form on this page or on your blog or any other blog we host. Once you log in, "Add New Blog Item" and "Admin Area" links are displayed. If you log in on your own blog, then you can write items for your blog by clicking the "Add New Blog Item" link. Otherwise, you will need to go to the "Admin Area" and using the "Add Item" link there. Either way, a form will pop up where you write your item (whatever you put in the top box area there will appear on the top of your blog page; whatever you put in the bottom box or the "extended" area will appear on a separate page linked to that item with a "[Read More!]" link at the end of your blog item).

We recommend you do a few things right away! First, bookmark your blog's page or add it to your favorites so you can find it again! The URL address in your browser address window on your blog page should be copied and kept in a safe place. It is "http://blogs.clubwager.net/", followed by your "Login Name". This is the URL address you will send to family, friends and others who want to read your blog.Some More Usage Tips

The "Admin Area" is also where you adjust your various blog settings. If you haven’t already done so, now would be a good time to write down your login name and password and put it in a safe place. After you log in, click the link to your "Admin Area" page. In your "Admin Area" just below the top menu area is a row of links and information on the blog you have at Club Wager. You will see a tiny globe beside your blog’s name. Click that globe to go to your blog. The other links on that menu row allow you to manage your blog (Add Item, Edit/Delete Items, Comments, Bookmarklet, Blog Settings, Bans).

In the "Blog Settings" area you can change the "Blog Title" and "Blog Description". You CAN NOT change the "Blog Shortname" or "Blog URL". You can globally choose to allow or disallow non-members from making comments to your posts, and provide an email address for certain notifications. You will also see a "Blog Skin" drop-down box where you can select a different theme to change the look of your blog (your "Admin Area" always looks the same).

Now click the link to "Admin Home". On the menu bar (and right beneath it) is a link called "Your Settings". This is where you can change your "Login Name", "Real Name", "Password", "Email address", "Language", etc. This is also where you provide any personal information you want to include in your member profile (and choose whether it is shown to all visitors or only to other members).

Now you are ready to start blogging! What you are reading is an example of a first blog entry ("item"). You must be logged in to write and add items like this to your blog. You log in using the "Login" form on your blog (or on any other blog we host). You, and only you, can add, edit and delete items on your blog (like this one). When you add an item to your blog, it appears on the first page of your blog above all previously posted items. You can delete any item if you wish, but items will eventually scroll off the main page (usually after 10 items are posted), and be archived, as you add newer items to your blog.

You will see tiny question marks throughout Admin Area that you can click for specific help. Please do not hesitate to email us if anything is confusing as we are always eager to help.
